Editors Note

With the change in Membership of the ABS (ESE) Executive Committee there has been a change in the editorship of the Associate. We thought that this change is an opportunity to add to the Associate by including as regular features in future editions a Letters to the Editors page, a Quote of the Edition page, and a Book Review page. These are intended to allow you as members of the ABS a forum and an opportunity to share your views and opinions on the range of activities ABS (ESE) is concerned with and to contribute in substantive terms to the Associate. In order, however, for these to work, we need you, our members, to contribute to these features. The deadline for submissions for the next Associate is 14 May 1997, and this will be applied strictly so please send any submissions to either of the Editors before this date. Many thanks to all contributors to this issue and a special thanks to Greg Massiah for his excellent translations and to members of the Executive Committee, in particular Naz Ghanea-Hercock and Seena Fazel, for their substantive contributions. Importantly, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank James Herbert, the former Editor, for his sterling service.
