The Science and Religion Interest Group Association For Bahá’í Studies - North America
The Science and Religion Interest Group met on Thursday 17 June 1999, in Arizona, as part of the Annual Meeting of the Association for Bahá’í Studies. The purpose behind this meeting was envisaged as being the need to understand the fundamentals of the Bahá’í teachings on science and religion in the light of the upsurge in interest in the unity of science and religion, as evidenced by the ever-growing number of books, magazine articles, and conferences throughout the world.
The two main topics that were addressed in this year’s annual meeting were those of the basic teachings of the Bahá’í Faith on the nature of creation and its knowability, and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s comments on evolution.
