The Virtues Weekend

IT WAS EARLY FEBRUARY and the weekend had at last come around when I would be taking part in my second Virtues training workshop. My first encounter with the Virtues Project had been at a time of great transition in my life when a sense of empowerment and increased confidence was just what I was needing, and this was exactly what I got. So it was with much excitement and anticipation that I headed off to Dura Den in Fife for a second helping of the ‘virtues’.
To say that I enjoyed the workshop would be something of an understatement. The facilitator was Margaret Mohamed, assisted by Gail Madjzoub, both of whom displayed great skill, enthusiasm, and dedication in their delivery of the course materials, as well as a keen sensitivity and wonderful sense of humour in keeping us on track!
Each session started with a beautiful song or piece of music which set the tone for the presentation that followed and the relaxed atmosphere it created encouraged frank discussion, full participation, a lot of laughter and a few tears.
There were many wonderful moments in the course of the workshop as everyone got to know each other better, sharing their thoughts and ideas, working together in an atmosphere of love and trust, culminating in a series of artistic presentations which were as wonderful as they were diverse – each one a powerful and very beautiful demonstration of unity in action.

So, all in all, a fantastic weekend, for which I know everyone would wish to convey their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Pam, Louise, and Justin and family, for making us all feel at home and well cared for in every respect. Special thanks also to Dakota for the lovely bookmark she made for each of us as a parting gift.
